BYU beats UCLA 59-0

I sure do wish that game had been on TV around here. BYU played faultlessly. They put in their second string halfway through the third quarter or else the score would have been at least 80-0.

ESPN:
PROVO, Utah -- BYU's Max Hall had to think for a minute when he was asked to remember each of his touchdown passes against UCLA.

He couldn't quite do it, which was understandable.

Hall tied a school record with seven touchdown passes and the 18th-ranked Cougars handed UCLA its worst loss in nearly 80 years, overwhelming the Bruins 59-0 Saturday.

The Knee

I finally got the results of my MRI on my hurt knee. I have "degeneration, contusion, swelling, fluid, and a tear in the meniscus." Now I am waiting to see an orthopedic surgeon for an assessment of the situation. Nothing I have read online about meniscul tears sounds like what I wanted to hear. In the meantime, I feel pretty good when I lie down, but have pain when I sit or walk; so I have let Will baby me a little bit and I lie down a lot. And when I get up I wear my big, black, $100 knee brace.

Will starts working in potato harvest Monday. We will be driving a tractor for Richard Tominaga. I'm a little worried about his thumb. He had an incident two weeks ago when a horse smashed his arm and hand against a rock wall. His thumb hurt so much I made him get an X-ray. It isn't broken but is badly contused (bruised). He still can't use it to even start the car. I guess bruising can cause more trouble than I had realized.

Emily's husband Joel is out of the Marines and back home now, so I'm not spending as much time babysitting Bailey. But to counter my suffering from withdrawal pangs from not having that sweet experience, I have been asked to be in the Relief Society Presidency. I wasn't sure if I should with my knee, shoulder and back, some dental problems, and even a bit of depression, but I think that the timing probably is just right, so I said yes.

On Labor Day we got our corn picked and in freezer bags. All we have left are potatoes, carrots, squash, cucumbers, tomatoes and lots of onions. And the apple trees are loaded.
